Meet The Team
Audrey Perera is a Singapore-based arts producer and founder of Passion & Purpose Asia.
As Producer of Rites of Us, she brings extensive experience in creating inclusive arts and community experiences, alongside a deep interest in grief literacy and in opening up more compassionate, culturally sensitive conversations about death, dying, loss and remembrance.
She has produced major local and international arts initiatives, including the Singapore edition of WOMAD and the long-running True Colors Festival in Singapore and Japan, and has worked with artists, communities and partners across more than 20 countries. Her work is grounded in the belief that the arts can create meaningful shared spaces – helping people encounter different lived experiences, find connection and engage with difficult but universal questions.
Her practice is grounded in the belief that the arts can create experiences that are both artistically compelling and socially resonant, while also opening space for reflection, care, and shared understanding.
Her current focus on grief literacy further deepens this approach, informing work that is attentive to human complexity, social connection, and the role of creativity in building more compassionate communities. Through Rites of Us, Audrey hopes to use theatre, music and participatory experiences to make conversations around grief and loss more accessible, while honouring the diverse cultural, faith-based and personal ways in which people mourn, remember and make meaning.
James Tay started his career as an events and theatre production manager with Orangedot Productions in 2002. He has since managed and produced various commercial, artistic productions, festival openings, corporate dinners, social events and school musicals. James is an adjunct lecturer at the Centre for Foundational Studies at Republic Polytechnic. His latest production management project is Salesman之死 for the opening of SIFA 2026.
Navya Ravindran leads social media and digital storytelling for Rites of Us. She works as a social media strategist at Digital Business Lab, where her work spans brand and community-building campaigns for hospitality and lifestyle clients. For Rites of Us, she shapes how the festival's story reaches its community online — translating conversations about grief, memory and shared humanity into content that invites people in, while keeping the festival's voice warm, honest and accessible across platforms.
Salawati Abdullah is an experienced Finance Director based in Singapore with extensive expertise in the marketing, communication, and advertising industry. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who brings on-board expertise in business strategy, financial analysis, forecasting, and planning.
Currently serving as a Group Finance Director at a digital advertising company, she has over a decade of experience in managing strategic financial management across regional markets in various MNC networks.
Beyond the numbers, she strongly believes in purpose-driven financial leadership and paying it forward to support business growth and community development.
Mohamed Shahril Bin Mohamed Salleh (Dr.) is a social scientist who researches the cultural formation in Singapore with a focus on how agency is imagined and enacted within the confines of the state. He is passionate about advocating for cultural workers in their artistic practice and their personal and professional development. As an inter-cultural and inter-faith advocate, much of his work concerns itself with finding ways to use the performing arts as a means to create spaces for communities to come together to better understand religious and cultural differences in Singapore. Shahril is the founder and Artistic Director of Vox Camerata, as well as an honorary lecturer at the University of Queensland, Australia.
Jaycee Ho (he/him) is a Singapore-based arts manager and multi-hyphenate creative with an evolving practice in facilitation, programming and producing. His work navigates the intersections of artistic inquiry, embodied experience, and encounters with diverse bodies and spaces. Jaycee has worked in various capacities alongside Singapore arts companies such as T.H.E Dance Company (T.H.E), Frontier Danceland, and Dance Nucleus (Pilot), as well as on artistic projects by institutions and independent artists, producers and collectives—including Arts House Group (AHG), Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, National Arts Council (NAC), People’s Association (PA), Rolypoly Family, Singapore Art Museum (SAM), The Public Space, and Dance in Situ.
Alexander Lee is a psychotherapist and independent practitioner specialising in grief responses, trauma-informed emotional processing, and the boundaries of non-clinical care. He brings experience from Samaritans of Singapore and TOUCH Community Services, with particular expertise in grief and loss, crisis intervention, and community training design.
At the Grief Stewardship Workshop, he leads the sessions on understanding grief responses, personal reflection on loss, and facilitation skills for community settings.
Guan Weinan is a multidisciplinary artist and visual designer with over a decade of experience in Singapore and China. Focusing on the relationship between individuals and society, Weinan transforms abstract concepts into visual languages, applying them across design, curation, and installation works. As a visual designer, Weinan has led the visual creation for events and theatrical productions, including Musica Intimae: Intersections and Infectious Disease Committee of Chinese (IDSC) 2025.
